NEOMED's Occupational Health Program Reminder

NEOMED has an Occupational Health Program for employees that is currently facilitated by the Summa Center for Corporate Health onsite in the NEW Center. All employees on the NEOMED campus are required to participate in this program. (Certain non-employees (i.e., volunteers, externs, etc.) accessing our animal facility (CMU) or research facilities may also be required to participate in portions of this program for a fee). Any information is collected to help us both monitor and protect you from potential work hazards and this information will remain as confidential as allowed by law.

Based upon job description and duties, you may be required to meet with the Nurse for an assessment that includes an immunization review and updates or further testing. Certain job descriptions require a physical, TB testing and lift tests. You will be scheduled with a physician should you require these services.

The SUMMA Center for Occupational Health at NEOMED (separate from the SUMMA Physician Offices) is staffed daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The nurses are available for occupationally related visits ( pre-screens, minor injury care, post-injury vaccinations or tests). However, please notify the Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Office (EOHS) as soon as possible should you require medical attention for a work-related incident. The SUMMA Center for Corporate Health at NEOMED may be reached at 330.323.7237.

Neither sick nor diagnostic visits are covered under the Occupational Health contract and the Center is not an Urgent Care facility. However, you may wish to establish yourself as a patient and contact one of the SUMMA onsite physicians for medical care should.

As always, in the event of a medical emergency, please dial 911 from any non-campus phone ( or 9-911 from any campus phone).
