New Leadership for University Faculty Council

Leadership for the NEOMED University Faculty Council (UFC) has recently transitioned as Amy Lee, MD, MPH, MBA assumes the role of chair and Patrick Gallegos, PharmD, has been elected vice chair. Dr. Lee, professor of family and community medicine and program director for the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health, is a long-standing member of the UFC and has served as vice chair for the past two years. Dr. Gallegos, associate professor of pharmacy practice and an associate professor of internal medicine, is also a long-standing member of the UFC.

The UFC is comprised of faculty representatives from each academic department with salaried faculty, graduate faculty, and affiliated faculty from the Colleges Medicine and Pharmacy. Its charge is to promote faculty dialogue, facilitate shared governance, advocate on behalf of faculty, and assure a faculty voice in academic matters and decision-making.

UFC meetings are open to any faculty member, student or staff member and are held the first Tuesday every other month from 4 – 5:30 pm in Conference Room G-204, beginning in August. To discuss a faculty concern or for further information, contact Dr. Lee at afl@neomed.edu, Dr. Gallegos at pgallegos@neomed.edu or Aimee Huter, coordinator, Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, at ahuter@neomed.edu.
