New Summer Workshop added for Admitted Students

A new workshop has been added to the summer learning sessions for all incoming medicine and pharmacy students. Sessions are designed so you can learn more about the courses you will be taking, meet the faculty and prepare you for with skills you can use to excel.

Introduction to Community Experience
he aim of the workshop is to prepare students for Community Experience course. The class during the year and the 2 workshops will provide year one health professions students with the understanding that patients are situated within communities that define and influence their health, well-being, and response to health care. This understanding and exploration of this is essential to providing accessible, effective, and sustainable care. Students in the workshop will have the opportunity to think about the projects they may want to engage in. The discussion will address basic concepts of population health and challenge students to apply those concepts. In the school year course, students will develop, implement, and evaluate a community project through inter-professional teams. This summer, students will work with faculty to think about what kind of project they would be interested in and work with other students to plan for the school year.
