National Medical Fellowships (NMF) is now accepting applications for the Anarcha, Betsy, and Lucy Memorial Scholarship.
- Established by NMF Alumna Yvonne S. Thornton, M.D., MPH, FACOG, the Anarcha, Betsy, and Lucy Memorial Scholarship is given in honor of three enslaved women who, as subjects of experimentation, helped shape advances in clinical and surgical knowledge and are recognized today as the Mothers of Gynecology.
- This $5,000 scholarship will be given to one (1) African-American woman who is a known descendant of American slaves, and is enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school program
- Applications for this award will be due March 16, 2020.
