Nominations for Diversity Awards Open

Annual nominations are now open for the Pharmacy Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award and the Community Builder Award. Any student, faculty or staff may nominate a student to receive either award.

COMMUNITY BUILDER AWARD

The Community Builder student award recognizes a NEOMED student who promotes and supports the needs, values and respect of underrepresented communities and who is sensitive to the issues of diversity and takes action to promote the ideals of inclusion, equity and community. This award recognizes a medicine, pharmacy or graduate student who has demonstrated a commitment to being open and sensitive to the unique needs and interests of diverse populations. The award of $300 and plaque will be presented at the Valuing Community and Diversity Reception on November 27. Self-nominations are permitted, however at least one letter of recommendation is required.

PHARMACY DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION EXCELLENCE AWARD Sponsored by Walgreens

The Pharmacy Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award recognizes a Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Pharmacy student who promotes and supports the needs, values and respect of underrepresented communities and who is sensitive to the issues of diversity and takes action to promote the ideals of inclusion, equity and community. This award recognizes a pharmacy student in any year of study who has demonstrated a commitment to being open and sensitive to the unique needs and interests of diverse populations and who has demonstrated the highest level of excellence in the pursuit of cultural competency and advocacy of diversity and understanding. A financial scholarship of $2,500 will be presented to the recipient of this award at the Valuing Community and Diversity Reception on November 27. Self-nominations are permitted, however, at least one letter of recommendation is required.
