Nominations Open for Student Diversity Awards

NEOMED students are invited to nominate deserving medicine, pharmacy and graduate students for two diversity awards/scholarships that will be presented in May 2018. Self-nominations are permitted for both awards.

The following awards, which include a monetary prize and a recognition plaque, are given annually to graduating students who help promote diversity in the community:

Diversity Leader Award

Sponsored by the NEOMED Diversity Council, the Diversity Leader award recognizes a graduating NEOMED student from any discipline who promotes and supports the needs, values and respect of underrepresented communities; who promotes, supports and lives through actions and personal commitment the ideals of inclusion, equity and collaboration; and who demonstrates the value of community. The award recognizes a graduating medicine, pharmacy or graduate student who serves as a role model for fellow students and has demonstrated these ideals throughout their NEOMED tenure. A $300 award will be presented to the winner at the respective college awards programs.

Nominations are open through April 27.

Walgreen’s Multilingual Award

The Walgreens Multilingual Award recognizes a graduating P4 of an underrepresented minority group with a demonstrated interest in community pharmacy and is fluent in speaking one or more languages in addition to English. A $2,500 award will be presented to the winner at the College of Pharmacy Awards and Recognition Program.
