OPRM changes name, promotes three team members, introduces new style guidelines

The name of the office formerly known as Public Relations and Marketing has been officially changed to the Office of Marketing and Communications, or MarCom for short. The change was made to better reflect the breadth of services provide by the office which includes public relations, media relations, internal and external communications, branding, creative development and publications, to name a few.

The office also announces the following promotions:  Angela Bennett, from digital marketing specialist to senior digital marketing strategist; Jared Slanina, from PR specialist to integrated marketing strategist; and Scott Rutan, from graphic designer to senior graphic designer. The promotions recognize the high volume of services and the quality of the work that each of them provides, as well as the additional responsibilities that they have assumed as the office has expanded its services across the University.  Please send them your warm appreciation and congratulations for each have been key to many of our strategic MarCom service efforts.

MarCom is also thrilled to release our new University style guide, which has been published to further standardize elements of style for branding, editorial, signage and naming of current and future initiatives throughout the University. While the style guide serves as a tool for the entire University, it is not exhaustive. Updates may be made periodically to reflect changes, omissions and additions to areas where needed.

Download the style guide or access it on the web.
