Sequoia Wellness Reopens May 26

Responsible RestartOhio for fitness centers, gyms, martial arts facilities, dance studios and similar fitness related business has announced that these types of facilities may open on Tuesday, May 26.

As general manager of Sequoia Wellness at NEOMED, I was fortunate to be selected to be a member of Governor DeWine's State of Ohio Task Force Work Group to help the state determine the best courses of action to take to reopen these types of facilities. Our recommendations were presented to the Governor for his approval, which he then granted and announced that the fitness world in Ohio may reopen on Tuesday, May 26, the day after Memorial Day.

As your partner in wellness at NEOMED, we have always been passionately committed to understanding your needs and exceeding your expectations to lead a healthy, happy life. In times such as these, our resolve remains stronger than ever. We pledge to you our continued dedication to putting the health and safety of our members and employees first, above all else, while striving to deliver an excellent member experience. As a clinically-integrated Medical Fitness Center, we accept the responsibility and are well positioned to respond to life alongside coronavirus. We welcome you to view our Pledge of Protection outlining all of our precautionary measures that will be in place when our doors open once again.

  • Pledge of Protection Overview
  • Controlled Capacity
  • Monitored Distancing
  • Advanced Disinfecting
  • Personal Protection
  • Regular Screening

While there are mandated requirements in many of our procedures there are also recommendations for facilities to consider when opening. First and foremost, our primary consideration in applying these requirements and recommendations is to mitigate the risk of coronavirus spread so that members and employees of our organization feel safe to return to the gym. In our planning to reopen Sequoia we have gone above and beyond state requirements and recommendations as we demonstrate our differences as a clinically integrated Medical Fitness Center. This is extremely important as it is our mission to assist your quest for well being in so many ways including physically, nutritionally, emotionally and socially.

So when visiting Sequoia OR your center of choice please respect the directions applied by your center and state and do your part...fill out the virus questionnaire, allow your temperature to be taken, maintain physical distance, wear a mask IF your center requires you to and most of all make it an enjoyable and safer experience for you, your co-members and our Sequoia staff! We look forward to welcoming you back to Sequoia. We miss you all! Please remember, we are all in this together. Thank you and stay health.

Below you will find several informative documents related to our reopening including:

Please review in advance of visiting Sequoia Wellness there have been a number of procedural changes regarding capacity, distancing, locker rooms and other features of the center and how they may affect your visit.
