Congratulations to Samantha (Sam) Hickey, a member of the Office of Marketing and Communications team, for being selected to participate in the Ohio Communication Association’s 2019 poster competition, held during the association’s conference Oct. 4 and 5 at Xavier University in Cincinnati.
Hickey presented on the topic “Exploring Gender Norms Associated with Choosing a Medical Specialty.” She selected the topic because she was inspired by the Fall 2018 Ignite article “Women in Surgery: A Rising Tide.”
With the support of NEOMED, Hickey is currently completing coursework for a Master of Arts in professional communication from Youngstown State University.
