Congratulations to the Student-Run Free Clinic at NEOMED for earning a 2021 Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Quality Standards Program.
The mission of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics is to ensure that the medically underserved have access to affordable health care. According to its recently announced ratings, the Student-Run Free Clinic meets those standards at the gold level.
Every Saturday, free care on the NEOMED campus is available by appointment from College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy students for medically underserved residents. The student volunteers also help patients connect with community resources for problems with housing costs, legal issues or food insecurity, as well as educational materials on a variety of health and wellness topics.
As its name implies, students take the lead at this clinic, which has grown exponentially since its opening in September 2016. Those interested in learning more or volunteering may email clinic@outreachneo.org.
