Students asked many questions at the Town Hall held Monday, Oct. 22 – so many that there wasn’t time to answer all of them. So, NEOMED leaders will answer the remaining questions from that event here and in future issues of The Pulse.
Q: As a new M1, I was wondering how the new curriculum would affect us our M2 year? Also, what is the potential start date for our M2 year as we prepare for applying for summer opportunities?
A: Current M1s will remain in the current NEOMED medical school curriculum for their full four years. Any curricular changes in the new curriculum will only impact students matriculating into that new curriculum beginning next academic year. Current M1s will be impacted by the university-wide switch to a 16-week semester calendar next year, but this will not impact their curriculum. August 12, 2019 will be the beginning of the M2 year.
