Students Attend American Medical Association Annual Conference

A group of NEOMED students recently attended the American Medical Association Annual Conference in Chicago.

First-year College of Medicine students Sanjana Datla, Kajal Madan, Punita Peketi, Rishitha Panditi and Sriharsha Voleti, along with medical students from across the country gathered to discuss pertinent health care related topics, such as single payer health care, equality in medicine and more. A number of policies were also brought up by students in attendance, which will be further discussed by AMA physicians. The United States Surgeon General, Dr. Jerome Adams, spoke at the conference and encouraged medical students to advocate for better policy regarding the opioid epidemic, gun control and vaccines, as the future leaders in medicine.
