Students Visit Akron Neighborhoods with COVID-19 Care-A-Van

Kudos to rising fourth-year College of Medicine students Laura Allen, Daniel Lamb, R.N., and Nicholas Pratt, R.N., who volunteered over Memorial Day weekend to educate people about COVID-19 vaccinations.

Under the direction of Deborah Plate, D.O., a professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and a physician at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, the students visited three Akron neighborhoods to answer questions and share information about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

Allen, Lamb, Pratt and Dr. Plate were part of a team of health care providers and community organizations that joined forces as the COVID Care-A-Van. Summit County Health provided J&J vaccinations onsite.
