Around the World Challenge Update
The latest wellness challenge, a virtual journey around the world, wrapped up on October 5 with a celebration of those who participated. Individual and team leaders were awarded with great prizes and Sequoia Wellness t-shirt were raffled off to all who participated.
Stress Around the Holidays
The holidays are often a trigger for increased stress, including having unrealistic expectations and struggling with romanticized feelings of the past. This seminar will teach you how to prepare for the season in a realistic way and review the physical manifestations of stress as we often forget how our bodies can notify us that we are burning out. Jinger Moore from Impact Solutions will share some unique self-care techniques, and also uses video and discussion to promote wellness during this time of year. The presentation will take place on December 7 from noon to 1 p.m. in Great Hall.
Complete Your Health Risk Assessment
During the month of October, the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is available for you to complete. Completing the HRA is the second qualification out of three you must complete to receive the 2017 Wellness Discount on your health insurance premiums. The first and third qualifications were required to be completed by the end of September. The HRA must be completed by October 31.
Open Enrollment
Open enrollment is tentatively scheduled for November 9-23. Final dates will be communicated as soon as they are available. Several open enrollment meetings will be scheduled and employees are encouraged to attend one of these meetings to learn more about changes for the 2017 health plan. As before, in addition to open enrollment meetings, we will offer several additional times to meet for individuals needing assistance.
All employees electing benefits will need to complete the enrollment process, even if maintaining current coverage with no changes. Stay tuned for more information soon.
