The NEOMED Community Mourns: Remembering Marilda Ward

The NEOMED community mourns the loss of Marilda Ward, who died on Sunday, April 19, 2020, after a five-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Marilda began working in NEOMED’s former word processing department on Sept. 6, 1994. She was able to admirably perform any word processing task requested by departments, whether they were large or small, simple or complex. Her skills and attention to detail enabled her to obtain a position in the Department of Internal Medicine in 1996. In this role, she coordinated the Update in Internal Medicine Course and ultimately the entire M2 Principles of Medical Sciences course until Academic Services' reorganization distributed the course among multiple coordinators. Marilda’s attention to detail and work ethic ensured her success in all her endeavors. She was always quick to offer her help to others when they were in need and to offer a word of encouragement. Marilda retired from NEOMED as course coordinator on Dec. 31, 2012.

We will miss Marilda and send our condolences to her family and friends.

A celebration of Marilda’s life will be held at a later date.

Sincerely,

John T. Langell
President
