Transcript and Diploma Process Streamlined

Starting in April, NEOMED students and alumni will be able to order official transcripts through the NEOMED website. In one step, a current student or alumnus will be able to place and pay for the order, requesting to have it delivered electronically or delivered as a hard copy.

Katherine Miranda, the university registrar, says that using a new vendor, Parchment (which some students may recognize from their undergraduate institutions) will streamline the process.

She notes two key benefits: First, transmission of the documents will be fully secure, using Parchment’s technology; they can’t be modified. Second, transcripts will have a quicker delivery time for electronic delivery.

“I’m excited about this change, because it will mean quicker transmission and processing of these documents for licensing and job placements — which is a good thing for our graduates,” says Miranda.

What you need to know

If you’re a student graduating in May, the diploma cover you’ll receive at commencement will include directions on how to order transcripts and a replacement diploma if ever needed. Additionally, all graduates starting with the Class of 2020 will receive a digital diploma, along with the original that Parchment will mail out once the degree audit is complete and the graduate is clear for the degree to be conferred (no student holds exist for financial aid, student accounts or library).

Cost

$10 for an electronic copy to be delivered

$12 for a hard copy to be mailed

Students will continue to have 24/7 electronic access to unofficial copies of transcripts and diplomas.
