Our first virtual Pathways to Pharmacy camp was a huge success! High school students from all over the country logged on to Zoom each day last week to join our interactive virtual program. Participants were sent care packages in advance that included a variety of hands-on activities.
They enjoyed a wide range of unique virtual programming which included a diabetes escape room, a virtual pharmacy simulator, Over-the-Counter BINGO, and a virtual compounding session where participants were able to compound capsules from the comfort of their own home using common household ingredients.
According to the participants, the hit of the program was the Careers in Pharmacy series where they had the chance to learn about different areas of pharmacy that they didn’t know existed, such as pediatric pharmacy, ambulatory care, internal medicine, critical care, research, and academia!
