Instead of lining the NEOMED courtyard with tables and posters for the annual Student Involvement Fair, each participating student organization hosted an individualized Zoom session, Wednesday, Aug. 27.
The Fair featured a number of existing and new student organizations, including Whales Oversee, Technology in Medicine Interest Group (pictured below), Secularism and Spirituality in Medicine Alliance, and the PediaWhales Pediatric Pharmacy Association.
“The idea was that students could browse the list and choose which Zoom sessions to pop into, based on the orgs they wanted to visit. The event functioned very similarly to a physical involvement fair, but with Zoom sessions acting as the tables and student organizations sharing digital resources. Overall, we’re happy with the outcome, which offered new students the opportunity to connect with several student organizations while keeping the NEOMED community safe,” said Brian Butler, assistant director of Student Services.
Overall, 64 NEOMED student organizations participated in the event.
