Welcome Charity Davis, Director of The Office of Human Resources

The Office of the President is pleased to announce that Charity Davis joined Northeast Ohio Medical University as director of the Office of Human Resources, effective Aug. 1, 2019. In this role, she will work under the strategic leadership of the Vice President of Human Resources. Charity will direct all activities of Human Resources in support of the institutional business plan and strategic direction.

Charity’s role will include developing practices and policies to support recruitment (including  diversity initiatives), retention, performance management and training of employees. She will lead the staff to ensure that compensation and benefit plans/programs are fairly and equitably administered; all systems and practices provide effective employee relations support; and service excellence is continuously modeled while driving efficiencies.

Prior to joining NEOMED, Charity served as a human resources manager with Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. At Mercy, Charity gained valuable experience and knowledge in many facets of human resources, including recruitment, retention, employee relations, compensation, policy development and interpretation, and organizational development. Prior to her position at Mercy Medical Center, Charity worked for Mercy Health, Salem Regional Medical Center and University Hospitals Portage Medical Center. 

Charity earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Malone University. Charity has been identified by yStark! as one of the 20 under 40, a recognition given by the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce to young leaders who demonstrate dynamic leadership and social responsibility.
