The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce that Bianka Hernandez joined Northeast Ohio Medical University as the new Director of Grants Accounting on July 1, 2021. In this role, Bianka will lead the Grants Accounting team, assist the University with maintaining compliance with sponsor and university regulations, update policies, and serve as the Authorized Financial Officer for awards within the ORSP portfolio. In addition Bianka will serve as the primary institutional contact for oversight and coordination of ORSP’s financial audits and investigations.
Bianka earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Hunter College of CUNY and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Akron. Prior to joining NEOMED, Bianka served at the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park where she was responsible for all financial aspects of the organization including managing their extramural funding. Prior to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Bianka was the Manager of Financial Research Administration and a Grant Accountant at the University of Akron.
Bianka’s experience and knowledge will make her a valuable member of the NEOMED team. Please join us in welcoming Bianka in her new role.
