Submit nominations for the 2025 Employee and Faculty Recognition Awards

This is a friendly reminder to submit your nominations for the 2025 Employee and Faculty Recognition Awards. You can download the questions here to help prepare your nominations. Faculty and staff are welcome to make nominations in all categories. Students may nominate outstanding faculty for faculty awards.

Nominations are also now open for the Olson/Blair Award for Administrative Excellence.

Deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12.

Olson/Blair Award for Administrative Excellence

The award was established in 1989 by Dr. Stanley Olson and his wife, Lorraine.  Dr. Olson, who along with Dr. Charles Blair, assumed responsibility chiefly for the organizational administration during the development of the College of Medicine.  This award honors a faculty or staff member within the NEOMED community who has a senior administrative appointment in an academic or service area and is given in recognition for outstanding administrative leadership through demonstrated initiative and innovative techniques including the ability to motivate and supervise, make critical judgments and contribute to the betterment of NEOMED. Employee Recognition Awards

The survey will ask you to describe why your nominee is deserving of the award. 

Glenn Saltzmann Community Service Award

This award was established by Dr. Glenn A. Saltzman who retired in 1996 after 20 years of service in the Department of Behavioral Sciences as a Charter Chairperson and the Division of Medical Sciences as a Director. He and his wife Ruth created the award in memory of their son Jon. The award annually recognizes an employee who has made contributions to the betterment of the community and service to fellow citizens. Emphasis will be given to an employee’s service to their community.  Nominees should be employed by NEOMED for a minimum of 3 years. View past recipients

Mary Jane Kelly Award for Service Excellence

This award was established in honor of Mary Jane Kelly, one of the very first employees of the institution, who served as assistant to the vice provost for administration and public affairs. This award is presented to a staff member who demonstrates an exemplary work ethic and takes the appropriate initiative while maintaining a strong service-oriented attitude.   Nominees should be employed by NEOMED for a minimum of 5 years. Integrity in Higher Education Award

This award is to honor an individual who exemplifies ethical leadership and personal responsibility in a way that strengthens our institutional culture and aligns with our core values and should be employed by NEOMED for a minimum of one year.

Collaboration in Higher Education Award

This award is to recognize an individual who breaks down silos and embodies a collaborative spirit that drives innovation and inclusive excellence across the University. Nominees should be employed by NEOMED for a minimum of one year.

Excellence in Higher Education Award

This award is to celebrate individuals who demonstrate sustained excellence and innovation, enhancing the institution's mission and reputation and should be employed by NEOMED for a minimum of one year.

Faculty Recognition Awards

The survey will ask you to upload:

1)  a letter of nomination that provides evidence of and establishes the candidate's qualifications for the award

2)  nominee’s current curriculum vitae

3)  any other substantiating information

Junior Faculty Award

This award is to honor a junior faculty member (Instructor or Assistant Professor who has been appointed for at least two (2) years but fewer than seven (7) years within the consortium, who has demonstrated exemplary performance and has made a noteworthy contribution to the NEOMED community.

Liebelt-Wheeler Award for Faculty Excellence

This award is to honor a NEOMED faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary performance in the areas of teaching, service, professional standing, or patient care.

Outstanding Faculty Research Award

This award is to honor a NEOMED faculty member who is an outstanding investigator. The award focuses on nationally and internationally recognized excellence and productivity in research that is basic, translational, or clinically focused.
