Tornado preparedness from our Emergency Management Planning Team
A message from NEOMED’s Emergency Management Planning Team:
Spring is hopefully approaching, but so is tornado season.
How do you monitor potentially severe weather while you are on campus?
Since Rootstown Township does not have a tornado siren, we strongly encourage everyone to have emergency alerts enabled on your cell phone so that you can receive important weather/emergency information.
Be sure to catch our messages next month, which will include additional communication methods and information about a campus-wide tornado drill.
What is the Emergency Management Planning Team?
The Emergency Management Planning Team (EMPT) is a group of NEOMED officials responsible for administering the University’s Emergency Management Program.
What does that mean?
The EMPT:
- Consists of personnel who would most likely be called upon to make up all or part of the University Incident Management Team (UIMT) during an emergency.
- Plans and prepares for the response to emergencies.
- Works towards preventing and mitigating emergency situations.
